About Me.

I hold a BA (Hons) in Illustration from Wrexham School of Art and began my career working in residential settings in Somerset, supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, and associated challenging behaviours. This formative experience inspired my move to London, where I began working in schools and later completed an MA in Art Psychotherapy at Goldsmiths, University of London.

Over the past seventeen years, I have worked as an Art Psychotherapist across a wide range of settings, including CAMHS, Kids Company, and both mainstream and SEND primary and secondary schools. Following my studies at Goldsmiths, I established the Art Psychotherapy provision at The Bridge School in Islington, supporting children and young people with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), severe learning difficulties (SLD), and autism.  As part of my work at The Bridge School, I facilitate a weekly support group for parents of children with SEND.

For the past nine years, I have also provided supervised placements for MA Art Psychotherapy students from Goldsmiths College, which has greatly enriched both the school’s therapeutic provision and my own understanding of the psychotherapist’s professional development.

As well as my work at The Bridge I also work part-time as an Art Psychotherapist at Hunters Hall a Primary School in Dagenham. Alongside this, I manage a private practice from my studio in Haringey, where I see private clients for art therapy and provide clinical supervision.

In 2019, a move to a larger home enabled me to establish a dedicated studio and office space for my private practice, offering a calm and creative environment for both therapy and supervision. Beyond my clinical work, I am an accomplished writer, with work published both online and in print. Most recently, I contributed to the new edition of The Art Psychotherapy Handbook, edited by Tess Daley.

I am deeply committed to fostering meaningful connections with the people I work with. Central to my practice is the belief that being truly seen and understood is fundamental to healing. My approach is responsive and person-centred, adapting to each individual’s needs. I would describe my therapeutic style as gentle and playful, with an intuitive understanding of when to tread softly and when to take a more directive stance.

On a personal level, I am fun-loving, sensitive, and compassionate. Kindness is at the heart of everything I do, both professionally and personally. My greatest achievement is raising my son and watching him grow into a happy and hopeful young man.

What is Art Psychotherapy?

Art therapy uses art as the primary mode of expression, alongside talking with an art therapist. It aims to reduce distress and improve social, emotional and mental health by promoting insight, self-compassion and a sense of agency and self-worth.

During art therapy, you are supported by an art therapist to use art to express and articulate often complex thoughts and feelings through art making. This may be following difficult or traumatic experiences which may be hard to talk about.

What commitment is required?

A commitment to therapy is a two way street between both parties, some clients move on after a couple of months others need support that may be longer. Its important that both parties commit to time allocated, no shows will be billed at the agreed rate.
